TRANSITION TO SUCCESS
May 2026 Vol. 1, Issue 9
Welcome to the 9th Edition of the NCPS Transition to Success Newsletter! Each month, we highlight a key life skill to support students as they grow into independent, confident, and capable young adults.
Theme of the Month: Summer Skill-Building
For May, our focus is on Summer Skill-Building. Students can create a "summer independence plan" by choosing one skill to practice each week during the summer. Skills can include preparing simple meals, practicing money skills, completing chores, or using community resources. These activities help build confidence, responsibility, and independence.
Families are encouraged to support students by helping them set goals, practice skills regularly, and celebrate their progress at home and in the community.
