🐾 Yesterday our Fourth Grade students visited Henricus Historical Park.
🐾 Henricus was founded just four years after Jamestown, in 1611.
🐾 Do you know why Jamestown wasn't a good settlement site, what types of animals they raised in those early settlements, or how the English settlers made the rooves on their houses? Ask a Fourth Grade student what they are learning in Virginia Studies and you might learn something too!

🗓️ Calendar Reminder- Feed More and PTA are tomorrow, Tuesday, March 10th!
Feed More-
🐾 Pick-up will begin at 3 PM (after dismissal).
🐾 Participants must park and enter through the gym doors on the side of the building.
🐾 You will be checked in and then may go into the gym to receive a bag (or you can bring reusable bags from home) and pick up your selected items.
🐾 Volunteers will be available to assist. Each item will be labeled with the number you may take, and you may choose to skip any item you don’t need.

🐾 The March PTA meeting will take place tomorrow at 5 PM in the cafeteria.

🐾 Earlier this month, our Fourth Grade students enjoyed an outreach program from Jamestown. Students were able to ask questions, observe artifacts, and even handle some of the historical objects.

🐾 We had so much fun celebrating our 100th Day of School and Valentine's Day with our Cougar Cubs today! We won't see them Monday because NCPS is closed for Presidents Day, but we will be back to learning together on Tuesday!

📅 Tomorrow, February 13th, marks our 100th Day of School! We will be celebrating this milestone in style. Students are invited to:

🐾 Check out these pictures of students in Mrs. Cutay's Third Grade class! Students were tasked with working in their groups to demonstrate their knowledge of story elements. We love to see our Cougar Cubs working and learning together!
🐾 Our 3rd and 4th grade Cougar Cubs explored the life of scientist Wilson Bentley during library earlier this month. Students listened to his Caldecott Medal winning biography, Snowflake Bentley, before creating a model of a snowflake out of pretzels and marshmallows. What an informative and tasty lesson!
🐾 Students in Mrs. Eckhardt's First Grade class earned a pizza party on Friday! The entire class met their Lexia goals for the week. Way to go Mrs. Eckhardt, Mrs. Wynn, and students; we love when students (and staff) meet their goals!
🐾 Our BPS Second Graders had a blast at the art show and science fair! Our scientist used the scientific method by asking questions and testing big ideas. There were lots of smiles, thoughtful explanations, and proud moments as students shared their projects. We're so proud of the hard work and excitement for science and art shown by our amazing Second Graders!
