🐾This week is National School Counseling Week and we are so very thankful for our School Counselor, Mrs. Dumond!
🐾 If you see Mrs. Dumond, make sure you tell her how much you appreciate everything she does for BPS, all throughout the year!

🐾 Check out these pictures of students in Mrs. Cutay's Third Grade class! Students were tasked with working in their groups to demonstrate their knowledge of story elements. We love to see our Cougar Cubs working and learning together!

🐾 Our 3rd and 4th grade Cougar Cubs explored the life of scientist Wilson Bentley during library earlier this month. Students listened to his Caldecott Medal winning biography, Snowflake Bentley, before creating a model of a snowflake out of pretzels and marshmallows. What an informative and tasty lesson!

🐾 Students in Mrs. Eckhardt's First Grade class earned a pizza party on Friday! The entire class met their Lexia goals for the week. Way to go Mrs. Eckhardt, Mrs. Wynn, and students; we love when students (and staff) meet their goals!

🐾 Our BPS Second Graders had a blast at the art show and science fair! Our scientist used the scientific method by asking questions and testing big ideas. There were lots of smiles, thoughtful explanations, and proud moments as students shared their projects. We're so proud of the hard work and excitement for science and art shown by our amazing Second Graders!

🐾 BPS is proud to present our School Level Teacher of the Year, Ms. Rebecca Jordan! We are so thankful to have Ms. Jordan as a part of our BPS team! Congratulations, Ms. Jordan!! 🎉🎈

🐾 Our Second Grade Cougar Cubs have had such a great time learning about measurement, length, and volume! We love learning through hands-on activities!

🐾 2nd grade has been working hard with measuring length, weight, and volume. Mrs. Wilkerson’s sweet kiddos had an opportunity to stretch out and measure gummy worms. Measurement has been a cross-curriculum skill; they even identified and illustrated tools used to measure weather in science.

On Friday, Fourth Grade had an exciting trip to the Virginia Museum of History and Culture that tied in perfectly with their Revolutionary War unit! 🏛️✨ Students explored fascinating artifacts and made great connections to what they’ve been learning in the classroom 📚🗝️. They also enjoyed a special hands-on demonstration where they got to interact with materials and learn in a fun, engaging way! Our BPS Cougar Cubs thrive when learning comes to life—hands-on experiences spark curiosity, deepen understanding, and make learning unforgettable! 🐾✨

Our Kindergarten Cougar Cubs made AB patterns with M&Ms on Friday in Ms. Dillemuth's class! What a yummy day in Math!

Students in Mrs. Hawkins's 4th Grade class finished their American Revolutionary unit by choosing an American who played a role in the American Revolution and made posters with a description of their contributions. We love seeing what our Cougar Cubs are learning!
