NHS Families: This morning, we experienced issues with our HVAC system at Nottoway High School. Our team was quickly onsite to correct the problem. By 10 am, the unit was functioning and temps were improving. The building was chilly this am-- especially on the CTE hallway. Students were in an assembly during part of the morning as well. Currently, temperatures have returned to normal and we continue to monitor the unit.

As our students approach adulthood, they must understand their rights and responsibilities at age 18. In Virginia, turning 18 means they’re legally recognized as adults—able to make their own decisions regarding legal, financial, medical, and educational matters.

For some individuals with disabilities, this transition is seamless. For others, additional support may be needed. To help families navigate this important milestone, PEATC is offering a free training:
Turning 18 in Virginia: What Individuals with Disabilities Need to Consider
November 17 | 4:00–5:30 PM
This session is designed for individuals with disabilities and their families. [
