Nottoway Athletics Policy Reminder:
As we prepare for a safe, high-energy, and memorable football game, Nottoway Athletics asks all students, families, and community members to strictly adhere to our Stadium Policies. To ensure a secure and enjoyable environment for everyone in attendance, the following guidelines will be enforced without exception:
Clear Bag Policy
Only transparent clear bags are permitted inside the stadium. Spectators attempting to bring non-clear bags will be required to return them to their vehicles prior to entry.
Pro Tip: Pack those extra layers, gloves, and stadium blankets into your clear bags before you head to the gate! Since there is strictly NO RE-ENTRY permitted once you enter the stadium, walking back out to your car because you underestimated the chill means your game night is officially over. Bundle up ahead of time!
Child Supervision
Please remember: The Friday night football game takes place on the field, not in the grass behind the bleachers!
While we love seeing our young fans full of energy, the area behind the bleachers is not a secondary stadium for impromptu football games, tag, or track meets. To ensure everyone stays safe and doesn't miss the action on the field, all children must be accompanied by an adult whenever they are not seated in the bleachers. Unsupervised playing or congregating behind the stands or in concourse areas will not be permitted.
Fan Conduct Standards
Nottoway maintains zero tolerance for inappropriate, profane, or abusive language. Violations of this standard will result in immediate removal from the stadium grounds.
We appreciate your full cooperation in upholding our standards as we represent Nottoway High School with pride and integrity.
Go Cougars!
As a reminder, if you are attending the game, we have a clear bag only policy! Also, children will need to be supervised by an adult if not in the bleachers.

This is a calendar reminder. NCPS will be closed for students on Wednesday, October 7th.

This is an update on the water situation at our complex schools. The water has been restored and we will continue to operate as normal for the remainder of the day. Thank you for your understanding.
The water is currently turned off at our Nottoway Intermediate, Nottoway Middle, and Nottoway High School. The original estimation of downtime is 30 minutes. We are in communication with the Town of Crewe regarding timeframes and next steps. Should this be a delayed outage, we will need to adjust dismissal times. We will reach out with additional communications.

We are providing a follow-up regarding the potential threat information shared earlier this evening involving Nottoway High School.
Following a thorough investigation by the Nottoway County Sheriff’s Office, including speaking with several students at their homes and tracing multiple statements to determine the source of the information, law enforcement was able to identify how the concern originated and how the information changed as it was shared.
The investigation determined that during lunch today, students had a conversation in a joking manner that included a comment about “not being on the list” and being “safe” from a situation. The conversation was overheard and repeated to others. As the information continued to be shared, the original comment evolved into a significantly different and more concerning story that was ultimately reported to school officials.
At this time, there is no identified threat to our students, staff, or Nottoway High School.
We want to use this situation as an important reminder to all students and families. Comments, jokes, or statements involving violence, threats, lists, weapons, or other language that may reasonably create fear or raise safety concerns at school are not appropriate. Even when intended as a joke, these statements can quickly create significant concern, disrupt the school community, and require an immediate response from school officials and law enforcement. Such situations will be addressed in accordance with School Board policy and the Student Code of Conduct.
NCPS will continue to take every report involving the safety of our students and staff seriously and investigate it appropriately. We would much rather investigate a concern and determine there is no threat than fail to respond to information that could potentially impact the safety of our schools.
We sincerely appreciate the swift response, thorough investigation, and continued partnership of the Nottoway County Sheriff’s Office this evening. We also appreciate the patience and understanding of our families as we worked to gather accurate information before providing this update.
Safety remains our highest priority, and we appreciate everyone’s partnership in keeping our schools safe.
