Oftentimes, the question comes up regarding school closures, especially as we approach winter months. Please know that we do not take any decision lightly. Our goal is always the safety of our students and staff. Our team monitors both weather and road conditions to make the best decision.
School Closing Procedures:
Should it be deemed necessary to close the schools because of weather conditions or other reasons, the decision will be made no later than 6pm the night prior. Notifications will be sent via the following methods:
Local Television (Channels 6, 8, and 12)
Text, Voice, & Email Message by Our Communication Platform
Posting on the NCPS Facebook Page

If a decision can not be made the evening prior, the announcement will be made prior to 6am. Please know that every effort will be made to make the decision the evening prior. It is important for individuals and families to plan.
